The P-H-M Planetarium & Air/Space Museum is located inside Bittersweet School, which is east of the PHM Educational Services Center (ESC) at 55860 Bittersweet Road, Mishawaka, IN, and just north of Penn High School's football field . Visible from outside the entrance is an exhibit of space memorabilia.

Once inside the Bittersweet School foyer, enter the planetarium through the door immediately to the right, before you reach the school office.

Go north on Bittersweet Road, ten feet past the end of the Penn High School Parking lot. Here, between the parking lot and the Educational Service Center, you’ll see the access road that will take you back (east) to Bittersweet School. Park your car in the Bittersweet Parking lot. Enter through the double doors (south entrance which is the only entrance from the parking lot) and the Planetarium door will be the first door to your right.

If you’re coming from the NORTH you can take Cleveland Rd or State Road 23 east to Bittersweet Road. Or is you’re coming from Michigan you’ll take State Road #23 west to Bittersweet Rd. Once on Bittersweet you’ll travel south past Douglas Rd, Day Rd and McKinley Highway (20). Go across McKinley Highway to the Educational Services Center building which will be on your left hand side. Immediately past this building turn left (east) onto the access road that will take you east to Bittersweet School.

If you’re coming from the EAST you can take McKinley Highway (20) or Lincoln Way (19) west to Bittersweet Rd. If you’re taking Lincoln Way you’ll turn right (north) onto Bittersweet Rd. You’ll travel past Vistula Rd, cross the St. Joseph River, past Jefferson St, and after you go past Penn High School you’ll turn right (east) onto the access road that will take you east to Bittersweet School. If you’re on McKinley Highway (20) you’ll travel west to Bittersweet Rd. Turn left (south) off of McKinley

If you’re coming from the SOUTHEAST get on Highway 19. Once you pass under the railroad turn left and head west through Osceola until you get to Bittersweet Rd (traffic light). Turn right (north) onto Bittersweet Rd. You’ll go through the Vistula intersection, cross over the St. Joseph River, and through the Jefferson intersection. Once you get past Penn High School you’ll turn right (east) onto the Bittersweet School access road (unmarked) that will take you back to Bittersweet School.

If you’re coming from the SOUTHWEST get on the South Bend Bypass and travel east to the Elm Rd. exit. Take Elm Road North, through the Dragoon intersection, 12^th intersection, Lincoln Way intersection, cross over the St. Joseph River and then make a right hand turn onto Jefferson St. Take Jefferson east until you come to Penn High School. Turn left (north) onto Bittersweet Rd. Immediately past the Penn High School parking lot you’ll turn right onto the Bittersweet School access road (unmarked) and follow it back to Bittersweet School.

If you’re coming from the WEST you can go east on Western which blends into Jefferson St. at the center of South Bend. Stay on Jefferson for about 10 miles until you come to Penn High School. Here you’ll turn left (north) onto Bittersweet Rd. Immediately past the Penn High School parking lot is the Bittersweet School access road (unmarked). Turn right (east) onto the access road and follow it back to Bittersweet School.

You can also come in from the west on Highway 20 (McKinley Highway). Travel east on McKinley for about 10 miles (from the center of South Bend) until you get to Bittersweet Rd. Here you’ll turn right (south) onto Bittersweet and go about two-tenths of a miles until you see the Educational Services Center on your left. Turn left (east) onto the Bittersweet School access road.
